It is with great honour and a profound sense of responsibility that I welcome you to Shaheed Mir Sikandar Zehri University, Khuzdar. Every great institution begins with an idea: the conviction that education can transform individuals, strengthen communities, advance societies, and shape a better future. The establishment of Shaheed Mir Sikandar Zehri University presents just such an opportunity: to build, from its very foundation, a university designed to meet the needs and embrace the possibilities of the future. As the founding Vice Chancellor, I see this responsibility not simply as establishing a new university, but as laying the foundations of an institution that will endure for generations. Our objective is to create a university where quality is a culture, innovation is encouraged, merit is respected, and learning extends beyond the classroom. Our students are at the heart of this vision. We want every student who enters this University to gain not only knowledge, but also confidence, creativity, critical thinking, leadership, and a sense of responsibility. We aim to give our graduates the knowledge and skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world, and the character and values to use those capabilities wisely. The world is entering an era defined by artificial intelligence, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and new forms of work and learning. We must prepare our students not merely to adapt to these changes, but to help shape them. The University will therefore promote emerging disciplines, digital skills, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, freelancing, industry linkages, and lifelong learning. At the same time, we will never lose sight of the human purpose of education. Technology can expand our capabilities, but integrity, compassion, responsibility, creativity, and respect for others remain the foundations of a meaningful society. Our ambition is to develop graduates who are not only employable and technologically capable, but also responsible citizens and future leaders. Situated in Khuzdar and rooted in the rich cultural and intellectual heritage of the region, Shaheed Mir Sikandar Zehri University is uniquely placed to serve as a gateway between local aspirations and national and global opportunities. Our vision extends beyond geographical boundaries. We will build partnerships across Pakistan and internationally, encourage academic and research collaboration, and create avenues through which our students and faculty can engage with the wider world. I firmly believe that the greatness of a university is measured not by the size of its buildings, but by the quality of the minds it develops, the knowledge it creates, the opportunities it opens, and the difference its graduates make in the world. Our journey is only beginning. The foundations we lay today will shape generations of students, scholars, professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders. I invite our students, faculty, staff, parents, researchers, industry partners, government institutions, and the wider community to join us in building this institution with ambition, integrity, and a shared commitment to excellence. Together, let us build a university that does not simply respond to the future, but helps to shape it. Welcome to Shaheed Mir Sikandar Zehri University, Khuzdar.
